Travelling Alone? No Need To
As a single person and an avid traveller, I regularly meet other single people on my travels. When I dine alone at night, often others will take pity on me and invite me to join them - which is great.
When travelling alone, I love the freedom of going where I want, when I want, stay where I want etc., but sometimes, you can get kind of lonely. Who will take your photo? Not having someone to chat with and exchange views over coffee and of course, it’s safety in numbers when travelling.
Sitting next to a complete stranger on a long flight can sometimes be very irritating - especially if you don’t speak the same language. Why do they always use YOUR arm rest? Snore and need the rest room just when you drop off to sleep? Sound familiar?
Don’t get me wrong, I do sometimes travel with a friend or some friends in a group. But it’s not always convenient. Our work schedules all differ. We all live in different countries, some of them are married with kids - others aren’t. So more often than not, I travel alone.
